Democracy-Jam: Democracy in times of Corona

Democracy-Jam: Democracy in times of Corona

21-04-2020

Cooperation of Democracy International e.V and the Academy for a Learning Democracy.

The Covid-19 crisis has drastically impacted the lives of people around the world and put our communities under enormous pressure. In these times, more than ever it is necessary that we exchange information and experiences across borders. But we also need to stay vigilant, develop appropriate measures and competencies and support each other.

This is why we would like to invite you for an international Democracy-Jam, exchanging experiences with the effects of the Corona-crisis on our democracies from around the world. All of the participants can bring in their own experiences. We will discuss the biggest challenges for our democracies due to the Corona-crisis and collect ideas and projects that try to strengthen and develop our democracies. In the end, we want to come up with common action points and next steps

The session will be moderated by Dr Raban Fuhrmann and will take place on Tuesday 21 April, at 16h00 CET on Zoom. Democracy activists from all over the world have been invited and will join the jam.
Write an e-mail to p.fuhrmann@democracy-international if you are interested to join spontaneously.

We look forward to hearing from you. We have noticed that a lot is happening and it is up to us whether our democracy will come out of the crisis strengthened or weakened.

Below you find the important documents for the Jam as PDFs:

  • The outline of the jam
  • The text "Democracy in Crisis: Establishing Democratic Crisis-Governance!
